Jo’s Selby Story

I was born a healthy child and lived a healthy childhood. 

I always thought I was a confident person who didn’t mind attention.

In my early 20’s I became seriously ill, leaving me with lifelong health issues and disabilities. It was at this point my confidence changed and the self doubt became overwhelming. 

I moved to Selby for a fresh start not knowing anyone other than my now husband. 

I signed up to a support programme terrified of not fitting in and being judged, and this completely changed my life!

I was given the confidence I thought I had, and was encouraged to reach my potential. 

I now run my own organisation supporting others with disabilities to reach their potential and raise awareness of the reality of living with disability.
