What is the project?
Dear Einstein is a new outdoor video projection piece made by imitating the dog. It is being made for Light Up Lancaster Festival. It will be a large-scale animated projection onto a prominent building in the town, accompanied by a new soundtrack by composer, James Hamilton.
The work will be a 10-minute projection piece, which loops, playing several times throughout each evening. It will take inspiration from Einstein’s work and correspondence, playfully addressing big questions about life, death, and the mysteries of the universe.
When is it?
There will be three nights of live performances as part of Light Up Lancaster on 2nd, 3rd, & 4th of November.
How do I get involved?
We’re looking for local people to join a choir to perform on the three live nights, to perform the soundtrack to the video work. You don’t need any previous musical or singing experience, just need an open mind and enthusiasm!
There will be three workshop rehearsals in Lancaster before the show nights. We’d like you to come to at least one of them, two would be better. Then we ask that you join us at the dress rehearsal, and perform on at least one of the live event nights, but two, or even all three, if you can. The piece will be performed several times on each live event night, so you will be there for a couple of hours on those nights.
Who can join?
We are happy for families and young people to join, and the age guidance is 11+. People under 15 should be accompanied by an adult.
