Help us create a treasury of cinema memories
Share your own special cinema memories with us with Our Cinema Century, a special extra to our digital installation Seeing in the Dark created by Lancaster University students.
Seeing in the Dark takes inspiration from Lancaster University’s Cinema Memory and the Digital Archive and reflects on how a trip to the flicks can make lasting memories.
Our Cinema Century invites participants to share their own personal cinema-going experiences, creating a compendium of memories from the film-loving community.
Participants at the installation can pick up an Our Cinema Century ticket and leave a favourite memory of visiting the cinema, which we’ll be turning into our own digital archive and timeline for people to visit, enjoy and see what experiences they share with others throughout the decades.
Our Century Century has been developed by students from Lancaster Institute for Contemporary Arts (LICA), Lancaster University.
A huge thank you to Theatre students Lucy Adams, Zofia Komorowska, Lauren Manville, Archie Verhoest and Violet Winterbottom for their idea, Johnathan Ilott for the ticket design and artist Simon Nixon for the bespoke deposit boxes.
