Free All Blood Runs Red Learning Resources
19th December 2024
As part of our commissioned Ribble of Dreams installation series for this year’s Encounter Festival, imitating the dog will be leading a series of FREE multimedia workshops for young people, children and families.
Ribble of Dreams is a story of escape, of exploration, and of discovery – a mix of local histories, some factual, some imagined, that will unfold across a series of viewing boxes in a trail of five shop windows in Preston City Centre during Encounter Festival, 21st and 22nd Sept 2024.
These workshops are fun and creative introductions to different methods of storytelling and showcasing some of the concepts behind the installations.
Tickets are free but booking is essential as spaces are limited.

Multimedia Storytelling with ITD co-artistic directors Pete Brooks and Andrew Quick. This workshop will explore some of the simple theatre and creative technology techniques we use when telling stories, and that we will be using to make ‘Ribble of Dreams’ – acting, video, animation, green screen, & projection.
The focus of the workshop will be ‘river journeys’. You don’t need to have any prior experience of any of the artforms, the workshop is aimed at anyone who enjoys performing or making theatre.
There will also be an opportunity later in the week (w/b 16th Sept) for some young people from these workshops to come and take part in some filming for the video content of the Ribble of Dreams installations themselves. Further info given on the day.

Working with ITD co-artistic directors Pete Brooks and Andrew Quick, we will demonstrate the digital projection techniques used in Ribble of Dreams, and have a go at creating our own miniature sets, onto which we will project video and animation.
Suitable for children aged five and up and their grown-ups, and older children interested in theatre design. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Scissors and craft knives will be used.
