Take Me To The River – in conversation with composer James Hamilton
11th March 2022
Part of North of the Tyne, Under the Stars produced by Pinwheel and DAT Events and commissioned by the North of Tyne Combined Authority
A new video-mapping project created for North of the Tyne, Under the Stars – a free outdoor festival of projection, magic and storytelling, inspired by local stories and landscapes from across Newcastle, Northumberland and North Tyneside.
Join us on a multimedia adventure, from the Scottish border to the banks of the Tyne. Take Me To The River tells a powerful, punchy tale of northeast spirit and playful perseverance, inspired by local history and the stories that stay with us.
A single child makes their way through forests, towns and shorelines, against a backdrop of moving time. Along the way they gather an ever-growing bunch of children and creatures, all set on having a splash about in the Tyne.
Animation, a brass band score and archive film footage provided by Yorkshire and North East Film all combine in this fun film projection about a community coming together and the determination to have a good time.
