Guilty Pleasures

Guilty Pleasures: two worlds in collision. A 1930s drawing room drama, in which convention and good manners prevail – and a dingy bathroom where sexual encounters, dark secrets and strange fantasies are played out.

A switchback ride between well placed words and extreme acts, Guilty Pleasures pulls no punches and risks the explicit. This compelling fusion of video technology and live action will take you on a noirish trip through the spiteful words and filthy pictures of one of the UK’s most exciting and versatile young companies. Combining highly physical performance and intellectual guile, imitating the dog tread a fine line between fiction and reality, reflecting a world where nothing is as it seems.

Guilty Pleasures was produced in conjunction with the Nuffield Theatre, Lancaster as part of the Live Wire project, and was also funded by Arts Council England (Yorkshire Arts). It toured England from October 2000 to April 2001.
