Working with Babeworld on inaugral Digital Routes programme
We had so many incredible applications for our inaugural Digital Routes programme and we’re thrilled to announce that over the coming months, alongside our partner organisations Leeds Playhouse and the Dukes, Lancaster, we’ll be supporting Babeworld.
Babeworld is led by Ashleigh Williams (she/her) and Ingrid Banerjee Marvin (she/her), and seeks to create a more representative art world through the creation of art, fundraising and creating grants, and facilitation of events – for those who are marginalised in the arts.
The thinking behind the whole programme was ‘what would we, imitating the dog, have really loved to have been offered when we were in our early stages of making theatre work?’ and Digital Routes is the result!
Over to the company for their thoughts on the opportunity:
‘Babeworld are so delighted to have been chosen by imitating the dog for the Digital Routes opportunity. This opportunity will afford us the chance to do a lot of things we’ve not been able to do before. Firstly, to have paid thinking time around researching and developing the stories we want to tell as part of our piece Halfway Between (CSSD and Home). Secondly, the massive amount of support from imitating the dog in terms of technology/digital to play with (alongside their digital expertise and mentoring) is a rare opportunity. Especially when it comes to exploring intersecting, marginalised identities. We can’t wait to get started.’
Lots more to come as both the programme and Babeworld’s project develop over the next few months. Keep an eye on our social channels and of course here on the website for the latest. You can follow Babeworld on Instagram here
